Yet, we should always #remember that the “#steadfast love of the #Lord NEVER ceases, his #mercies NEVER come to an end, and they are new #EVERYmorning.” (#Lamentations 3:22-23 #ESV).

“Rock Star”
He was quite the #rockstar back in the day. You know, fancy #camelhair clothes, a leather belt and a fad #honeydiet. Large crowds of people from all over sought see him, to hear his words and to be #baptised by him (#Mark 1:5-6)
Yet, at the time of reckoning, St #JohntheBaptist knew his place. He was merely the warm up act, the voice predicted by the #prophet #Isaiah (Ch 40:3) to announce the arrival of the #King, the #realstar of the show. And when #Jesus took the limelight, he gladly stepped aside and plainly said “Jesus must increase, but I must decrease.”
#LordJesus, may we be reminded that You and You ALONE are the boss, our King, #Lord and #Master. In everything we do, may we have more of you and less of us.

“Eye On The Prize”
Reflecting shortly before his execution, #StPaul wrote that he had fought the #goodfight, he finished the race and he remained #faithful. He was convinced that his #prize awaits — the #crown of #righteousness from #Jesus when he returns.
Does this matter to us at all? Of course it does! Paul wrote further the same prize will be awarded to all those who eagerly look forward to Jesus’s return.
In the face of daily, relentless #challenges, this is a #wonderful, #powerful #encouragement. No matter how #difficult (and in Paul’s case it certainly was), the race will end eventually. And there is a prize worth looking forward to!
Acceptance of the grace of Jesus’s #cross fires the starting gun. Then, at the finish line, Jesus will be the ultimate #cheerleader. There at the finish line awaits the ultimate #awardingceremony. There awaits a #trophy of eternal life and a crown of #righteousness awarded by none other than #God himself in the person of Jesus.
So, there you go — it’s absolutely worth keeping our eye on the #ultimateprize!

I thought that the #champion #Godclingers were #Jacob (Gen 32:26) and #David (Ps 63:8). Well, until a friend pointed out what #Jesus said right after miraculously feeding over 5,000 people:
“This is the will of him who sent me, that I SHALL LOSE NONE OF ALL THOSE HE HAS GIVEN ME, but raise them up at the last day.” — #John 6:39 %NIV
That my friends, is a picture of #God’s immense #faithfulness. Human #frailty leads us away from him often, but, oh boy, does he #cling to you and me, like only God can!!!

The #tomb is #empty, he has #risen — #HappyEaster, FB friends! As we remember #Jesus’s resurrection, may we be reminded of our own immeasurably #desperate need for #Christ our #Saviour. There is absolutely nothing we can do to save ourselves, but only through him, with him, in him and by him alone.

“It is #finished!” cried #Jesus just before he died the #cross. In the original #Greek, John wrote #Tetelestai! - which merchants of the day stamped on receipts to indicate #fullpayment. My friends, our #debt of #sin has been paid in full on the cross, and the gates of #heaven have swung open to those who wish to receive the# grace from the cross.

Today’s #pickmeup: The great #StPaul was keenly aware of his #shortcomings that he called himself the least of the #Apostles (1 #Corinthians 15:19).
Yet #Paul writes that in his weakness, #Christ’s loving, abundant and boundless #grace is all that he needs.
Following #Jesus leads to an acute awareness of our #desperate need for him and his grace. Then, we find out that it’s exactly what we needed, and nothing else.
